Located about an hour and 20 minutes away from San Juan in the mountainous municipality of Orocovis, Toro Verde is the largest adventure park in the Americas and features some of the longest zip lines in the world!

Entrance

To book your adventure simply go to their website toroverdpr.com where you’ll be able to see the different packages that they offer. If you’re looking to maximize your time in Toro Verde, you might want to check out their Day Pass, which allows you to enjoy 4 out of their 5 most thrilling rides. If not, you can pick and choose from the other packages that they offer based on your preference.

Pro Tip: If you’re coming during the low season, approximately from August till October, you might want to check if they are running any promotions that’ll help you save you a few dollars. However, one thing to keep in mind is that, regardless of whatever you plan to do, the tours that you buy are non refundable and Toro Verde doesn’t cancel tours because of rain.

Also, keep in mind that the road leading up to Toro Verde, especially the ones coming from the north side of the island, might be damaged and often suffer from landslides because of heavy rainfall in the mountains. So, make sure to plan your trip appropriately so that you arrive at least half an hour before the beginning of your tour.

Seven Ziplines Toro Verde

Seven Ziplines

Once you arrive at Toro Verde and park in their spacious parking area, make your way to the reservation desk where you'll check in and be directed to the first adventure of your day, in this case the seven ziplines. For this, you’ll be strapped into a full body harness and then thrown down the first of seven different ziplines of varying lengths and speeds. On each of these zip lines you’ll be able to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys and rivers of the surrounding area.

After completing each zip line, you’ll wait for the rest of your group on a platform where you’ll get a front row seat to see your friends and family’s face of excitement, terror or both, as they themselves arrive to the platforms. Make sure to wear shoes with a good amount of grip because you’ll have to walk up stairs and on gravel to get between some of the zip line platforms. After about two hours and a half, you’ll arrive at the final platform, and then, walk over to the shuttle truck that’ll take your group from the forest all the way back up to the main building for your next adventure.

Toro Bikes Toro Verde

Toro Bikes

Next, if you’re looking for something completely out of the ordinary, look no further than the Toro Bikes. This quirky ride holds the Guiness World Record for being the longest cable bike circuit in the WORLD! Here, you’ll go up some stairs to the starting platforms, where you’ll be secured onto a bike that runs directly on cables. Then you’ll thrust yourself forward and just like magic, you’ll be riding a bike above the ground across the one thousand feet long cable to the second platform. Once you arrive at the second platform, the staff will turn the bike around and then it’s on you to ride back up to the starting platform while you enjoy the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Toro Roller Toro Verde Adventure Park

Toro Roller

If you still feel like you need a little more mental preparation for the two main attractions of the Toro Verde Adventure Park, you might want to check out my personal favorite ride at Toro Verde called the Toro Roller. This short, yet exhilarating ride begins by strapping yourself to a roller coaster like rail 60 feet above the ground, and then letting gravity move you along the rail at rapid speeds through its sweeping and loopy corners until you rapidly approach the bottom platform. Although this ride is not as popular as the others, I have to say that its unique sensation left me wanting to ride it more than once!

La Bestia Toro Verde Adventure Park

The Beast

After completing the first few thrilling rides, I bet you’re feeling more confident with being so high off the ground. So, it’s time to upgrade your adventure to one of the main attractions of the Toro Verde Adventure Park called the La Bestia or The Beast!

Using a full body front harness, you’ll be secured to The Beast and thrown down this almost mile long cable face forward at speeds of almost 60 miles per hour all the way down to the neighboring municipality of Morovis. This unique face forward position allows you to feel the sensation of flying like a bird high above the forest and river below. Now, because you’re face forward and going at such high speeds, I would suggest bringing with you a pair of protective clear glasses, similar to what you would use for woodwork, so that you can protect your eyes from the rushing wind and truly take in the scenery.

El Monstruo Toro Verde Adventure Park

The Monster

Now that you’ve conquered La Bestia, you feel like you can conquer anything that stands in your way. But, get ready, because everything you’ve done up to this moment pales in comparison to the standout ride of the Toro Verde Adventure Park called El Monstruo or The Monster!

This mile and a half long zipline that takes you all the way to the neighboring municipality of Corozal, is the longest zipline in the Americas AND the SECOND longest in the world! Similar to La Bestia, you’ll begin by strapping into a full body front harness next to the main building. And then you’ll make your way up the stairs to the ominous and towering bull shaped platform. From there you’ll be secured face forward onto the zipline and before you know it… You’ll fly right by the main building, traveling at up to 95 miles per hour down into the mountain range and viewing the river valley where you’ll be as high as 1,246 feet above the ground! This thrilling zipline will not only get your adrenaline going, but also make you feel truly alive and in a state of pure euphoria. Once you finish El Monstruo you might be either delighted or terrified to learn that you have to grab another shorter zip line back in the opposite direction to hop onto the shuttle truck that’ll take you to the main building.

Toro Verde Adventure Park Gift Shop

Gift Shop

Now, you can officially say that you’ve conquered La Bestia and El Monstruo! And what better way to celebrate this than to head on over to the Toro Verde gift shop where they have a wide range of clothing such as t-shirts, rain jackets, backpacks, hats, water bottles, and many more souvenirs designed with funny graphics all about the great adventure you just had at the Toro Verde Adventure Park in Puerto Rico. And, while you’re there, make sure to pass by the photo booth station to check out and purchase the official photos Toro Verde took of you while going down their zip lines.

Toro Verde Adventure Park Restaurants

Restaurants

It would be no surprise if you were fiercely hungry after such a long day of physical activity and excitement. Luckily, you won’t have to look far to find a place to eat because Toro Verde has two quality restaurants right in their adventure park. The first of these restaurants is called Grotta e Toro which is located near the Toro Roller and the start of the Seven Ziplines. This Italian restaurant offers a varied menu of artisan pizzas made in a brick oven and other Italian dishes.

If you’re craving a more local dish, then check out La Terraza del Toro, a restaurant located on the second floor of the main building. This restaurant not only offers a wide range of modernized criollo dishes made with locally grown herbs, fruits and vegetables, but also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area and the perfect viewpoint to see your friends and family rushing by you while going down El Monstruo.

Cafê Licor Orocovis

Coffee Shop

After eating your delicious meal, you check your watch and notice that it’s time for your 3PM coffee. And although you could buy coffee at Toro Verde, I highly recommend jumping into your car and driving to the charming Cafelicor, a coffee shop conveniently located close to the adventure park. At Cafelicor you’ll have the chance to sip on some delicious locally grown coffee while eating homemade pastries on their wooden porch surrounded by a luscious forest. And if you’re lucky like us, the rain might make this coffee shop feel even more cozy to help you wind down after an adrenaline packed adventure.

Orocovis City Center

Orocovis’ City Center

Now, before heading back to wherever you're staying during your trip, I recommend that you take one final 15 minute detour from the Toro Verde Adventure Park and explore the city center of Orocovis, a unique city center in Puerto Rico because it’s almost completely surrounded by rivers and creeks. Here you will find the small, yet beautiful public plaza surrounded by local businesses and its picturesque church. One of those businesses that I suggest you visit here is Riocafe, another small local coffee shop that sits right next to the riverbed and offers a tranquil atmosphere.

And that’s it! Thank you so much for reading! I hope you found it helpful. Leave a comment below and let me know if you’d like to see an Ultimate Travel Guide to Orocovis and a Guide to the Toro Verde Urban Park the Distrito T-Mobile located in San Juan.
